[edit] Weekend Bridge and Street Closures - April 17-18
One of three lanes of the Brooklyn Bridge eastbound to Brooklyn will be closed on Saturday from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm to facilitate NYCDOT bridge repairs.
The Union Street Bridge over the Gowanus Canal will be closed on Saturdays through April 24 from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Vehicular and pedestrian traffic may use the adjacent Carroll Street or 3rd Street Bridges to cross the Gowanus Canal.
West Thames Street westbound between West Street/Route 9A and Battery Place in Manhattan will be closed on Saturday from 1:00 am to 5:00 pm to facilitate New York State DOT construction activity. One of three southbound lanes on West Street/Route 9A between Albany Street and West Thames Street will be closed from 1:00 am to 5:00 pm.
44th Street between Broadway and 6th Avenue in Manhattan will be closed on Saturday from 9:00 am to 7:30 pm for the Project Dance Times Square 2010.
Woodhaven Boulevard northbound between 89th Avenue and Jamaica Avenue in Queens will be closed on Saturday from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm and the main roadway southbound will be closed on Sunday from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm to facilitate NYC Transit crane work. Motorists will be routed onto the service roadway.
5th Avenue between 59th and 79th Streets in Manhattan will be closed on Sunday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm for the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York Parade. Central Park South (59th Street) between 5th and 6th Avenues will be closed for the parade formation. 79th Street between 5th and 3rd Avenues and 69th Street between 5th and 2nd Avenues will be closed for the parade dispersal.
45th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues in Manhattan will be closed on Sunday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Midtown North Explorers Club Times Square Spring Block Party.
5th Avenue from 55th Street to 47th Street, 47th Street from 5th Avenue to 6th Avenue, and 6th Avenue from 47th Street to 53rd Street in Manhattan will be closed from 7:30 am to 9:15 am on Sunday for the NYPD Holy Name Society Parade.
Myrtle Avenue between Fresh Pond Road and Wyckoff Avenue in Queens will be closed on Sunday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Ridgewood LDC-Myrtle Avenue Street Festival.

[edit] Weekend Bridge and Street Closures -- November 7-8
The Manhattan-bound tube of the Queens Midtown Tunnel will be closed from 1:00 am Sunday to 5:30 am Monday. Two-way traffic will be maintained, for cars only, in the remaining tube. Motorists should expect delays. Trucks should use alternate East River crossings, but note that the Brooklyn Bridge is for cars only. Closures are also scheduled for 1:00 am Sunday, November 15 to 5:30 am Monday, November 16 in the Queens-bound tube.
The Holland Tunnel will be closed to New York-bound traffic for roadway work Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 am to 8:00 am, weather permitting.
One of three lanes on the Manhattan-bound lower level of the Manhattan Bridge will be closed Saturday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm for bridge repair.
The Grand Street Bridge over Newtown Creek will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm to facilitate bridge repairs. Motorists should use the Metropolitan Avenue Bridge.
There will be lane closures, weather permitting, to facilitate deck rehabilitation work from 11:00 pm Friday through 5:00 am Monday on the Gowanus Expressway outbound/southbound Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (BQE) to Prospect Expressway; BQE/Gowanus Expressway southbound exit to Hamilton Avenue; and Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to southbound Gowanus Expressway. Traffic will be maintained southbound, as well as the exit to the Prospect Expressway.
The exit to Hamilton Avenue from the southbound BQE/Gowanus Expressway will be closed until 11:00 am Sunday. Motorists should use the prior Atlantic Avenue exit or the next 39th Street exit. Traffic exiting the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel will be routed onto Hamilton Avenue until 11:00 am Sunday and may re-enter the Prospect Expressway or Gowanus Expressway via 17th Street. Gowanus Expressway traffic may also continue on 3rd Avenue southbound and enter the Gowanus at 62nd Street.
There may be intermittent 15-minute closures of the northbound Harlem River Drive in the area of the Willis Avenue Bridge on Saturday between 1:00 am and 5:00 am as well as on weeknights during the same hours until November 28. These closures are necessary to erect structural steel to form the new FDR Drive entrance ramp as part of the Willis Avenue Bridge replacement project.
On West Street (Route 9A) northbound from the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to Cedar Street two of three northbound lanes will be closed from 6:00 am to 9:00 am Saturday, and one of three northbound lanes will be closed from 9:00 am Saturday to 6:00 pm Sunday, to facilitate roadway work.
Stone Street between Coenties Alley and William Street in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm through November 30 for a pedestrian mall.

- Madison Avenue between 42nd and 57th Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Archdiocese of New York St. Patrick's Cathedral Young Adults Madison Avenue Festival.
- Metropolitan Avenue from 80th Street to Rentar Plaza in Queens will be closed from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm for the Middle Village Veterans Day Parade.
- The following streets in the Bronx will be closed from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm for the Bronx United Veterans Parade: Lafayette Avenue between Brinsmade and Edison Avenues; East Tremont Avenue between Lafayette and Lawton Avenues; Lawton Avenue between East Tremont Avenue and Throgs Neck Expressway service road northbound; Throgs Neck Expressway service road northbound between Lawton and Meagher Avenues.

Stone Street between Coenties Alley and William Street in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm through November 30 for a pedestrian mall. Stone Street between Hanover Square and Coenties Alley will be closed on Saturday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Stone Street 4th of July celebration.
Mulberry Street between Canal and Broome Streets and Hester Street between Mott and Mulberry Streets in Manhattan will be closed Friday through Sunday until September 1 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for a pedestrian mall.
Bedford Avenue between N. 4th and N. 9th Streets in Brooklyn will be closed on Saturdays through July 25 from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm for Williamsburg Walks.
The following streets will be closed on Saturday:
- 12th Avenue between 23rd and 59th Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 4:00 pm to 1:00 am for the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Celebration. In addition, the following streets offering viewing access will be closed between 11th and 12 Avenues: 24th, 26th-30th; 33rd, 34th, 40th-44th, 47th-52nd and 54th-57th Streets.
- Water Street between Fulton and Broad Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Pearl Street Park Association 4th of July Festival.
- 6th Avenue between 14th and 23rd Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the McBurney YMCA Festival.
- The following streets on Staten Island will be closed from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm for the Travis 4th of July Parade: Formation & Start: Showplace Center (Victory Boulevard at West Shore East Service Roadway). Route: west on Victory Boulevard to Glen Street; Glen Street to Cannon Avenue; Cannon Avenue to Victory Boulevard; Victory Boulevard to 141 East Service Road.
- Myrtle Avenue between Wyckoff Avenue and Fresh Pond Road in Queens will be closed Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Myrtle Avenue 4th of July Sidewalk Sale.

- 6th Avenue between 42nd and 56th Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the USO Street Fair.
- Lexington Avenue between 34th and 42nd Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Israeli Civil Rights Lexington Avenue Street Fair.

New Jersey-bound lanes of the Holland Tunnel will be completely closed to traffic from 1:00 am to 8:00 am Saturday and Sunday for repaving. The project is weather sensitive and closures may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
One lane inbound of the Manhattan Bridge will be closed Saturday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm for construction activity. Three lanes will remain open inbound and two lanes open outbound.
Two Manhattan-bound (southbound) lanes of the Henry Hudson Bridge between Manhattan and the Bronx will be closed (weather permitting) beginning at 9:00 pm Friday until 3:00 pm Saturday while repaving work is completed by the MTA. The Henry Hudson Parkway lanes will be open as well as two lanes on the bridge. Motorists may experience delays during this period.
Stone Street between Coenties Alley and William Street in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm through November 30 for a pedestrian mall.
Mulberry Street between Canal and Broome Streets and Hester Street between Mott and Mulberry Streets in Manhattan will be closed Friday through Sunday until September 1 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for a pedestrian mall.
Bedford Avenue between N. 4th and N. 9th Streets in Brooklyn will be closed on Saturdays through July 11 from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm for Williamsburg Walks.
Flatbush Avenue between Parkside Avenue and Cortelyou Road in Brooklyn is closed until Sunday, June 28 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Flatbush Avenue BID Festival.
The following streets will be closed on Saturday:
- The 79th Street Transverse Roadway between 5th Avenue and Central Park West will be closed from 12:01 am to 5:00 am to facilitate NYCDOT bridge inspection work.
- East 4th Street between Bowery and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan will be closed from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm for Meet the Street.
- 6th Avenue between 23rd and 33rd Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Church of St. John 6th Avenue Festival.
- 35th Street to 38th Street between Broadway and 5th Avenue, 6th Avenue between 35th and 59th Streets, and 56th Street between 5th and 7th Avenues in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm for the Inter-Immigrants Day Parade.
- 167th Street between Gerard and Cromwell Avenues in the Bronx will be closed from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm for Bronx Summer Walks.
The following streets will be closed on Sunday:
- Vanderbilt Avenue between Dean Street and Park Place in Brooklyn will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for Summer Streets on Vanderbilt.
- The following streets in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm for the Governeur Parents Association Parade: Formation: 104th Street between 5th and Park Avenues. Route: Madison Avenue from 104th Street to 116th Street; 116th Street to Pleasant Avenue; Pleasant Avenue to 120th Street. Dispersal: 120th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues.
- The following streets in Brooklyn will be closed from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm for the Brooklyn Puerto Rican State Parade and Festival: Formation: Grand Street between Union Avenue and Lorimer Street. Route: Grand Street from Lorimer Street to Graham Avenue; Graham Avenue to Flushing Avenue. Dispersal: Thornton Street between Flushing Avenue and Broadway; Debovoise Street between Broadway and Humboldt Street.
- 52nd, 53rd, 54th, and 56th Streets between 7th and Madison Avenues, 5th Avenue from 52nd Street to Greenwich Street, and Greenwich Street between W. Houston and Bethune Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Heritage of Pride Parade.
- Hudson Street between 14th and Bethune Streets, 13th Street between 9th Avenue and Hudson Street, and 9th Avenue between 13th and 14th Streets will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Heritage of Pride Festival.

New Jersey-bound lanes of the Holland Tunnel will be completely closed to traffic from 1:00 am to 8:00 am Saturday and Sunday for repaving. The project is weather sensitive and closures may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
All lanes on the lower level of the George Washington Bridge New Jersey-bound/westbound and the Henry Hudson Parkway ramp to the lower level New Jersey-bound will be closed Saturday from 12:01 am to 8:00 am to facilitate Port Authority construction activity.
The 145th Street Bridge over the Harlem River will be completely closed from 10pm to 6am from Wednesday, June 24 through Monday, June 29 to permit testing of electrical and mechanical equipment that operates the movable swing span. Motorists and pedestrians may use adjacent bridges during these closures.
Stone Street between Coenties Alley and William Street in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm through November 30 for a pedestrian mall.
Mulberry Street between Canal and Broome Streets and Hester Street between Mott and Mulberry Streets in Manhattan will be closed Friday through Sunday until September 1 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for a pedestrian mall.
East 4th Street between Bowery and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan will be closed on Saturdays until June 27 from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm for Meet the Street.
Vanderbilt Avenue between Dean Street and Park Place in Brooklyn will be closed on Sundays until June 28 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for Summer Streets on Vanderbilt.
Bedford Avenue between N. 4th and N. 9th Streets in Brooklyn will be closed on Saturdays until July 11 from noon to 9:00 pm for Williamsburg Walks.
167th Street between Gerard and Cromwell Avenues in the Bronx will be closed Saturdays until July 11 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm for Bronx Summer Walks.
Mosholu Parkway between Kazimeroff Boulevard and Van Cortlandt Avenue, Fox Street between Interval and Longwood Avenues, and East 158th Street between Grand Concourse and Walton Avenue in the Bronx will be closed Friday and Saturday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Bronx Week 2009 Parade.
The following streets will be closed on Saturday:
- The 65th Street Transverse Road between 5th Avenue and Central Park West will be closed from 12:01 am to 6:00 am to facilitate NYCDOT bridge inspection.

- Broadway between 43rd and 44th Streets, Duffy Square, and Broadway between 46th and 47th Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 5:30 am to 8:30 pm for the Times Square Summer Solstice Event.
- 79th Street from Riverside Drive to West End Avenue, West End Avenue from 79th Street to 95th Street, and 95th Street from West End Avenue to Broadway in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm for the Dr. Glory Children's Theatre Parade.
- Columbus Avenue between 96th and 86th Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the West Side Crime Prevention/ Mitchell-Lama Street Festival.

Broadway is closed to through traffic at Times Square (47th to 42nd Streets) and Herald Square (35th to 33rd Streets). Motorists traveling southbound can continue through Times Square using 7th Avenue. All crosstown streets remain open.
New Jersey-bound lanes of the Holland Tunnel will be completely closed to traffic from 1:00 am to 8:00 am Saturday and Sunday for repaving. The project is weather sensitive and closures may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
The south outer roadway of the Queensboro Bridge eastbound to Queens will be closed from 1:00 am to 9:00 am on Saturday and from 1:00 am to noon on Sunday to facilitate NYCDOT bridge work. Motorists should use the lower inner roadway and enter from 2nd Avenue at East 59th Street or use the south upper roadway approach from East 57th Street or East 58th Street.
All lanes on the lower level of the George Washington Bridge Lower Expressway New York bound will be closed on Saturday from 12:01 am to 8:00 am. The Henry Hudson Parkway ramp to the eastbound Cross Bronx Expressway will be closed from 12:01 am to 8:00 am and traffic will be diverted to the 178th Street Ramp.
All lanes on the lower level of the George Washington Bridge lower level will be closed in both directions on Sunday from 1:00 am to 10:00 am for the American Cancer Society GWB Challenge.
The 145th Street Bridge over the Harlem River will be closed for testing of the bridge machinery on Saturday from 12:01 am to 7:00 am. Motorists and pedestrians can use adjacent bridges during these times.

Two out of three northbound lanes of Route 9A (West Street) between Rector Street and Albany Street will be closed from 9:00 pm Friday to 10:00 am Saturday to facilitate Con Ed utility work by New York State DOT. Motorists are encouraged to consider alternative routes.

Mulberry Street between Canal and Broome Streets and Hester Street between Mott and Mulberry Streets in Manhattan will be closed Friday through Sunday until September 1 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for a pedestrian mall.

Brighton Beach Avenue between Ocean Parkway and Brighton 15th Street in Brooklyn will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday for the Brighton Beach BID Sidewalk Sale.
The following streets will be closed on Saturday:
- 2nd Avenue between 23rd and 34th Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Friends of 13th Precinct Fair.
- 1st Avenue between 68th and 79th Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Lenox Hill Neighborhood Festival.
- 116th Street between 2nd and Lexington Avenues and 3rd Avenue between 106th and 122nd Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the 116th Street Festival.
- 5th Avenue from 59th Street to Washington Square Park in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm for the Hare Krishna Parade. Washington Square South between Thompson Street and LaGuardia Place will be closed from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm for the Hare Krishna Festival.
- South Street between John and Beekman Streets in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for Children’s Day at the South Street Seaport.

New Jersey-bound lanes of the Holland Tunnel will be completely closed to traffic from 1:00 am to 8:00 am Saturday and Sunday for repaving. The project is weather sensitive and closures may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Motorists traveling to New Jersey during these times should use alternate crossings.
The Ninth Street Bridge over the Gowanus Canal will be closed from 11:00 pm Friday through 5:00 am Saturday for a semiannual emergency opening test. Pedestrian and vehicular traffic will be detoured to the Hamilton Avenue Bridge.
Stone Street between Coenties Alley and William Street in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm through November 30 for a pedestrian mall.
Mulberry Street between Canal and Broome Streets and Hester Street between Mott and Mulberry Streets in Manhattan will be closed Friday through Sunday until September 1 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for a pedestrian mall. - The following streets in Staten Island will be closed from noon to 4:00 pm for the United Staten Island Veterans Association Parade: Formation: Forest Avenue between Victory Boulevard and Decker Avenue, Hart Boulevard between Castleton Avenue and Forest Avenue. New Jersey-bound lanes of the Holland Tunnel will be completely closed to traffic from 1:00 am to 8:00 am Saturday and Sunday for repaving. The project is weather sensitive and closures may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Motorists traveling to New Jersey during these times should use alternate crossings.
The Cross Island Parkway northbound between the Grand Central Parkway and Bell Boulevard will be closed Sunday from 7:00 am to 11:00 am for the Queens Biathlon.
Stone Street between Coenties Alley and William Street in Manhattan will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm through November 30 for a pedestrian mall.
Mulberry Street between Canal and Broome Streets and Hester Street between Mott and Mulberry Streets in Manhattan will be closed Friday through Sunday until September 1 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for a pedestrian mall.
