The following are streets with heavy traffic delays that everyone should know and avoid at all costs

[edit] 23rd St & 5th Ave

Heading Direction:On 23rd street passing 5th ave going east bound
Description: right turn on 5th ave and Broadway, 2 streets only 10 feet apart, backing up both lanes of traffic. Slow pedestrians or bad turning technique, maybe both.
Recommendations: Avoid street, if stuck stay on left lane, avoid cars turning right
Time frame: everyday

Heading Direction:On 14th street passing Broadway going east bound
Description: both lanes seems to be turning right into Broadway, and too many busses
Recommendations:Avoid street, if stuck stay on left lane
Time frame: everyday

Heading Direction:On 14th street passing 3rd ave east bound
Description: 2 slow turning lanes, left turn to uptown 3rd ave take forever due to on coming traffic from other side. Right turn to 3rd ave downtown take a long time due to large amount of pedestrians crossing the street that just got out of the subway.
Recommendations:Stay on right lane a little better
Time frame: mainly weekdays

[edit] Chrystie St & Hester St & Bowery St

Heading Direction:On Chrystie Street making a right turn into Hester St making a left on Bowery Street.
Description: Too much China Town pedestrians on Hester & Bowery causes very slow traffic turning into Bowery St to get to the Manhattan Bridge. Traffic backs up to Chrystie St. 5-10min delay
Recommendations:Take a right turn on Broome St. 2 streets before Hester St. No traffic at all, saves 10 minutes.
